PURPOSE:To obtain a highly waterproof cable core by winding an outer cover tape on the longitudinal and end surfaces of a main heat insulation tape while interposing a waterproof mixture between the two materials and further extrusion-forming the composite cable while covering with a cable sheath. CONSTITUTION:A waterproof mixture 23 is applied on the surface of one side of a main heat insulation tape 21 made of polyethylene-based plastic of a relatively high melting point. Here, the mixture 23 is made to have a larger width than that of the tape 21 to cover the side surface, end surface and folded-back surface of the tape 21 as well and an outer cover tape 22 of polyester is bonded on them. In this way, covering a cable core 1 with a cable sheath 3 with the waterproof mixture 2 interposed in between, they are bundled and extruded to form a waterproof communication cable. When the cable is to be used, the end covering may be peeled off. With this constituting, there is no possibility of water seeping in the longitudinal direction as the waterproof mixture 23 is present even if cracks are produced on the outer covering tape 22. |
