The invention describes a fireplace insert (1) with a combustion chamber (11). It consists of bottom, top, side and rear walls (12, 16, 17, 13), in front of which is arranged a convection jacket (18). Arranged between the combustion chamber (11) and the convection jacket (18) is a convection space (8). Its channel sections (20-23) assigned to the individual bottom, top, side and rear walls (12, 16, 17, 13) are connected to the ambient air via an inlet (7) and an outlet (9). A transition region (28-30; 46) between the channel sections (20-22; 43, 44), assigned to the bottom and/or rear and/or top wall (12, 13, 16), of the convection space (8) is curved. <IMAGE>
