<p>PURPOSE:To provide the title compsn. for use in ink jet recording which is excellent in cloggingproof and quick drying properties and stability and forms a clear image with excellent fastness and high image density, and which comprises as main components a water-soluble polymer dye, water and an org. solvent and has a surface tension adjusted to a predetermined value or below. CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble polymer dye (A) having an average MW of 50,000 or below, such as dyes of formula I (wherein n=20) and formula II (wherein n=30), and an org. solvent (B) such as propylene glycol monobutyl ether and diethylene glycol monophenyl ether, optionally together with a surfactant (C) such as a polyoxyethylene alkyl(phenyl) ether, a wetting agent (D) such as glycerin, (di)ethylene glycol, etc. are mixed so as to have a surface tension of 50 dyne/cm or below, and the resultant mixture is added to water.</p> |
