PURPOSE:To obtain a thermoplastic elastomer excellent in heat melt moldability, chemical resistance and weathering resistance, by polymerizing a radical- polymerizable monovinyl monomer in the presence of a specified flexible polymer block chain as an initiator to form a polymer block chain. CONSTITUTION:At least one radical-polymerizable monovinyl monomer is polymerized by using an initiator having at least one dithiocarbamate group of the formula (wherein R<1> and R<2> are each H or a 1-10C alkyl) to form a flexible polymer block chain B of a glass transition point <=20 deg.C. At least one radical- polymerizable monovinyl monomer is polymerized by using the formed polymer itself as an initiator for a rigid polymer block chain A of a glass transition point >=50 deg.C to obtain the purpose elastomer. This thermoplastic elastomer can be molded into various shapes with an extruder, a press molding machine, an injection molding machine or the like. |
