<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the circuit constitution and at the same time to increase the detecting speed with the titled method, by supplying a constant current to a conductive member of one of two resistance layers from that of the other resistance layer through a contact point of a touch panel and detecting the coordinates of the contact point via each resistance layer. CONSTITUTION:Two resistance layers 2 and 2' provided on two substrates are set opposite to each other with a gap secured between them. Then at least a conductive member 5a is provided on an edge part of the layer 2 and at least a conductive member 5b' is provided on the edge part of the layer 2' orthogonal to the edge part of the layer 2. In addition, a constant current source 7 is connected to the substrates so that a current of a fixed level flows to the member 5b' from the member 5a via a contact point P when both layers 2 and 2' have a contact to each other. Then the coordinates of the point P are detected from the voltage drops of both layers 2 and 2'. Thus no high-speed switching element is omitted for switch of application of voltage and the circuit constitution is also simplified. So that a contact position can be detected on a touch panel with the reduced number of troubles and at a low cost.</p> |
