The invention relates to a luminaire system of a multiplicity of light sources which are distributed in the room and can be freely adjusted and controlled and which have in each case a controllable pivoting and swivelling device for variably illuminating objects in the room. The luminaire system according to the invention is characterised in that a) the light sources (1) consist of luminaires or radiators (emitters) which are combined to form one group or several groups, each radiator being equipped, for adjusting to a freely selectable point in the room, with geared motors (18, 19) and its own electronic data storage and control device (2) which is programmably controlled via a control electronic system (24, 30) by means of a remote control (4, 5), and b) the commands for adjusting the radiator movements of the radiator groups are given out by the remote control (4, 5) via a control line (8) which is connected to all data and storage devices (2). <IMAGE>
