PURPOSE:To enable clear printing even on a low-smoothness paper, by incorporating an fatty acid ester of dextrin as a gelling agent into a heat-fusible ink, in a thermal transfer type recording material for use on a thermal transfer type recorder such as a thermal printer. CONSTITUTION:A fatty acid ester of dextrin is incorporated in a heat-fusible ink layer provided on a base. The ink layer is provided by using a material comprising a heat-fusible binder, a softening agent, a coloring matter or the like as main constituents. The fatty acid ester of dextrin is an ester of the formula. The ester shows a gelling action even at the time of fusion of a wax, thereby preventing a rapid lowering in viscosity, enhancing cohesive power and enhancing the transfer efficiency of an ink, so that clear printing can be achieved even on a low-smoothness paper. |
