PURPOSE:To produce a thermoplastic elastomer having a good balance among heat resistance, abrasion resistance, flexibility, impact resistance and chemical resistance, etc., by melt-kneading a polyamide resin with an ethylene copolymer comprising specified components and a specified metal salt compound. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic elastomer of a bending modulus of 1,000-10,000kg/cm<2> is produced by melt-kneading 30-60pts.wt. polyamide resin (A) with 70-40pts.wt. ethylene copolymer (B) comprising 40-90wt.% ethylene units (a), 5-60wt.% alkyl alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylate units and 0.5-5wt.% maleic anhydride units (c) together with an 8-24C fatty acid or amino acid metal salt (C) (e.g., sodium stearate) in an amount corresponding to 10-80mol.% based on the maleic anhydride units at a temperature >=the m.p. of resin A.
