PURPOSE:To suppress a peak current, when an electric motor is started, by accelerating the electric motor after its magnetic flux is established by using an inverter output of a low frequency. CONSTITUTION:When an electric motor is started, a control output of 0.5Hz frequency is output for about 100-200ms from a control circuit 5. In this way, an electric current of 0.5Hz frequency in rated voltage is supplied to the electric motor 3 from an inverter main unit 2, and magnetic flux is generated rising up in the electric motor 3. Next the control circuit 5 outputs a control output which increases the frequency to its rated value by cushion of about 100ms. In this way, the inverter main unit 2 increases its output frequency accelerating the electric motor 3 to its rated speed. Thus performing a control, the electric current can be suppressed when the electric motor is started.
