摘要 PURPOSE:To make a suction air quantity automatically limitable by setting up an elastic auxiliary valve in the wall part of a suction passage in an engine, and at time of failure in a throttle valve controller, feeding the inside of the valve with a fluid and thereby expanding the valve. CONSTITUTION:The throttle valve 3 set up in a suction passage 1 of an engine E is driven for its opening or closing by an actuator 6 via its shaft 3a. The actuator 6 is driven and controlled by an engine control unit 8 on the basis of each detection signal out of various sensors 13-15 detecting a driving state of the engine E. In this constitution, a fail-safe mechanism FS is constituted of the elastic auxiliary valve 25 set up in a wall part of the suction passage 1 and a fluid feeding device 30 which feeds the inside of this valve 25 with a fluid and expands the valve 25 inside the suction passage 1. At time of failure in this controller, the valve 25 is expanded inside the suction passage 1, whereby a suction air quantity to be fed to the engine E is restricted.
