PURPOSE:To scale down a circuit by allowing an A/D conversion means which makes the output signal of a photoelectric transducer to a digital signal to correct color balance instead of a shading correction circuit. CONSTITUTION:A linear image sensor means which resolves the color image of an original into the three primary colors of lights R, G and B and reads them as electric signals, a reference terminal VREF (+) which sets the reference voltage, of an analogue/digital conversion, the A/D conversion means (analog input) 25a-25c which convert an analogue signal photoelectrically converted by the linear image sensor means into the digital signal and a reference voltage correction means which individually sets the reference voltage of the A/D conversion means 25a-25c for each colors of the R, G and B are provided. The color balance is corrected by individually setting the reference voltage for each color of the R, G and B in the A/D conversion means 25a-25c. The reference voltage of each color is set to appropriately correct the color balance.
