A torque wrench, whose head tilts about a predetermined angle relative to a lever arm when a preset tightening torque is reached, has a number disc with a scale of degrees which is arranged coaxially to a screw and is mounted so as to be rotatable relative to the head, and also a pointer which is arranged coaxially to the number disc and is mounted so as to be rotatable relative to the number disc, and a ratchet plate which, during the pivoting of a lever which tilts when a tilting member becomes operative when a preset torque is exceeded, moves the number disc or the pointer.
