The invention relates to a pocket for the storage of flat filing material, consisting of two layers of flat material forming the front part and rear part of the pocket, these being connected to each other, on at least a first closed side of the pockets, by folding over at least one layer and using a plurality of connecting elements which penetrate through the flat material in the region of the fold, at a distance from the closed side. The invention is characterised in that the connecting elements engage through the flat material of one layer, exclusively in its folded-over region, and connect it to the flat material of the other layer, and in that apertures are provided in the flat material of one layer outside the folded-over region of that layer, each of which apertures is congruent with at least one connecting element.
