The coal-winning unit for a steep dip contains a mechanised support (1) and a frame with two guides (15, 16). The combine (19) is connected by its grippers to guides (15, 16). The combine (19) has a floor and roof worm (24, 25) and a feed drive which is connected to the combine (19) by means of a tension member. The guides (15, 16) are arranged one above the other and are constructed from sections connected in an articulated manner with a means of changing the distance between the guides (15, 16) in a plane passing through them. The floor worm (24) of the combine (19) is fastened to the body (22) of the combine (19). The combine (19) is attached by means of two grippers to the bottom guide (15), while it is kinematically connected to the top guide (16) by means of a gripper (23). The gripper (23) is connected to the combine (19) via a supporting element (27) which has a degree of freedom in a plane which is parallel to the plane passing through the guides (15 and 16). The gripper (23) is connected to the roof worm (23) via a copying device (28). <IMAGE>
