摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of carrier splashing and carrier sticking by specifying the grain size of the carrier in a two-component developer and the intensity of the magnetization thereof. CONSTITUTION:The two-component developer 4 consisting of a carrier and toner is conveyed to a developing region K by a sleeve 2 turning around a magnet body 3 and the electrostatic latent image on an image carrier 1 is developed without contact under the oscillating electric field in the developing region K. The carrier disperses the magnetic material powder in an insulating material in this case. The average grain size R (mum) of the carrier and the intensity M (emu/cm<3>) of the magnetization measured within 1,000 oersted magnetic field are in 50<R<=150, 30<=M<=400 ranges. The generation of the carrier sticking, the carrier splashing, sweeping patterns and fogging are thereby prevented.
