With known training apparatuses for the muscles and the ligaments in the hip and pelvic areas, either no systematic training is provided or there is a permanent risk of injury. The risk of injury is particularly critical for all training persons. The new training apparatus is intended to permit systematic, effective and at the same time largely injury-free training. In order to be able to allow during training for the sequence of movements in the human articular apparatus, a retalinear guide path (F) is provided between the support and the counter-bearing for a relative approximation movement between the support (4) and the movement part (A) of the counter-bearing (9, 9'a, 9'b). To the extent that, during the outward movement of one leg or both legs, the distance between the point at which the force engages on the outwardly moved leg and the middle of the torso or the pelvic region becomes smaller, the support moves closer to the movement path of the counter-bearing, resulting in harmonic movement for the articulatory members of the body, in which a selective stretching or elongation of the selective group of muscles or ligaments results, without the person training needing to concern himself with any particular optimum positon. The training apparatus is particularly suitable, because of the harmonic movement sequence and the low risk of injury, for professional training and for training without supervision or assistance. <IMAGE>
