Filter device and process for the production thereof

A filter device and a process for the production thereof are described, the filter device being made of an open-pored plastic foam, in the pores of which is arranged an adsorber material in particulate or granule form. The filter device has at least two layers of open-pored plastic foam which are arranged immediately one after the other in the flow direction and which exhibit different pore sizes. The plastic foam layers of different porosity can be furnished with adsorber material of the same grain size or with adsorber materials which exhibit grain sizes different from each other.
