PURPOSE:To obtain a solidified body of synthetic rock which has excellent physical and chemical stability and is suitable for final disposition by mixing calcium pyrophosphate with amorphous silicic acid and sodium phosphate hydrate and maintaining the mixture under specific temp. and pressure conditions. CONSTITUTION:The solidified body of the synthetic rock is obtd. by mixing the calcium pyrophosphate with amorphous silicic acid and sodium phosphate hydrate and maintaining the mixture under the conditions of 150-350 deg.C and 100-500kg/cm<2> pressure. SHIRASU, sodium siliate, etc., are used for the amorphous silicic acid. Sodium phosphate of dodecahydrate is generally used as the sodium phosphate hydrate. A hexahydrate is usable as well if some water exists in the calcium pyrophosphate and the amorphous silicic acid, etc. The strength is lower with an increase in the ratio of the calcium pyrophosphate in the rock synthesis reaction, but the calcium pyrophosphate is required to be added at about the ratio at which the synthetic rock withstands practicable strength for the purpose of solidifying the calcium pyrophosphate. Since the operating temp. is as relatively low as about <=350 deg.C, the operation at a low cost is possible.
