PURPOSE:To improve particularly preservability of picture images of a silver halide color photographic sensitive material by treating a silver halide color photographic sensitive material contg. a Yellow coupler expressed by the specified formula with water and/or stabilizing soln. wherein the amt. of water and/or the stabilizing soln. to be supplemented to the amt. of water and/or stabilizing soln. transferred from a preceding bath is(are) adjusted to 3-50 times to the transferred amt. CONSTITUTION:In the formula expressing a Yellow coupler, R1 is a tertiary alkyl or aryl group; R2 is H or alkoxy; R3 is alkyl or aryl; Y1 is a divalent joint group; X is an eliminate group by coupling. The silver halide color photographic sensitive material contg. the Yellow coupler is treated with water and/or stabilizing soln. for <=3min total time required for the desilvering stage and a water-washing and/or stabilizing stage while adjusting the amt. of water and/or the stabilizing soln. to be supplemented to the amt. transferred from a preceding bath to 3-50 times of the transferred amt. A color developing soln. contg. substantially no benzyl alcohol is used. By this constitution, a silver halide color photographic material is treated quickly with satisfactory preservability of picture images.
