PURPOSE:To attain a miniaturized code plate such as a tag by providing a winding for recording and degaussing to a recording head whose rod magnetic core tip is provided with a detection head so as to allow the detector to detect the N/S magnetization and nonmagnetization on a magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A hole 7 is provided to the tip of a rod magnetizing magnetic core 5 and a detection head 8 for saturated coil shape is inserted and fixed. Moreover, a recording winding 6 is wound on the magnetic core 5. On the other hand, a rubber magnet 9 as a magnetic recording medium is bonded onto an iron plate 10 to constitute a code plate. The code plate and the magnetic core 5 are opposed and an AC current attenuated exponentially and bipolar DC currents are given to the winding 6, then the magnet 9 is magnetized to the N or S pole or degaussed. The recording of the three states is detected by a detection head 8. Since the magnetic recording detection head is integrated in this way and a ternary code of tri-state value is recorded and detected, the tag is constituted compact in using the titled detector for a tag of a carrying device, etc.
