PURPOSE:To prevent the loss of normal readout and write at a high temperature in advance by using a temperature sensor so as to sense the ambient temperature of a magnetic disk device. CONSTITUTION:A temperature sensor 1 detects the ambient temperature of a magnetic disk device and a temperature signal is given to a temperature level detection circuit 2. When the temperature signal exceeds a prescribed temperature level, the circuit 2 sends a temperature abnormality signal to a display circuit 3 to inform the abnormality externally. Moreover, the temperature abnormality signal is given to a write control circuit 4, which outputs a write inhibition signal to a write circuit 5 to inhibit the write.
