<p>A flexible pipe which provides thermal insulation for liq. and/ or gases passing through it consists of thermoplastic material with high thermal resistance surrounded by a barrier layer. The layer is welded or bonded directly to the thermoplastic pipe and is a composite made up of a ductile metal foil core of low mechanical strength covered on both sides with plastics; this composite layer expands and contracts equally with the plastic pipe i.e. without forming any gaps to the pipe. The pipe itself is made of polyethylene, polypropylene, polybutene, perfluorethylenepropene, polyvinylidenefluoride, post-chlorinated PVC or polysulphone.</p> |
