In a vehicle having a sliding raisable end board that can be retracted beneath the platform of the vehicle and is formed by a front half (6) and by a rear half (11) which is automatically foldable over the first, there is provided in combination with the end board: a spare wheel holder formed by a front part (12) attached beneath the platform (2) and a movable rear part (13) possessing means (18) for locking in two positions, these means being urged into a first position for locking said parts (12, 13) together and so made as to move to a second position of locking said rear part (13) to the rear half (11) of the retracted end board, under the action of this half (11), and means (D7, D8) for selectively operating the end board, said rear part (13) forming a manoeuvring carriage for the spare wheel (25). <IMAGE>
