PURPOSE:To shorten the time for editing operation of a negative film by projecting the negative film on a screen for inverting a negative, picking it up with a video camera and displaying a positive image on a video monitor. CONSTITUTION:A light beam from a light source 6 is radiated to a film for projection 9 through a cold mirror 7 and a prism 8 and made incident on a half mirror 12 through an octodecimohedral prism 10 and a triangular prism 11. And it is divided into two optical paths (x) and (y) and the optical path (x) is projected on the screen 15 of a usual screen device for editing. Meanwhile the optical path (y) is projected on the screen 17 for inverting the negative through a mirror 16 as the negative image. The negative image is inverted by the hue correction mechanism of the video camera 4 to be projected on the display screen 19 of the video monitor as the positive image. Then, editing can be executed by means of the positive image and the time for editing operation can be shortened.
