PURPOSE:To make terminal housings compact and prevent the seal ring thereof from being dislocated by using the external space of the housings as common to the flexible space of an elastic arm for hooking terminals to the housings and chucking the seal ring between a ring-shaped projection on the central peripheral wall of the housings and the opening edge of a cap. CONSTITUTION:When terminals 12 and 12' are inserted from the rear part of a pair of terminal housings 2 and 2', the tips of the terminals 12 and 12' go aground on a projection 5 and come in contact with an elastic arm 8 of cantilever shape. And the free end of the elastic arm 8 is displaced to the outside of the housings 2 and 2'. When the terminals 12 and 12' are further inserted, a recessed part 13 is engaged with the projection 5 and the contact condition is released. And the free end of the elastic arm 8 returns to the original position thereof. On the other hand, a seal ring 22 is wound about the peripheral wall of the housing 1 and then a cap 14 is applied to the front of the housing 1. As a result, the opening edge of the cap 14 comes to oppose a ring-shaped projection 4 formed on the central peripheral wall of the housing 1, thereby retaining the seal ring 22. According to the aforesaid construction, the terminal housings 2 and 2' can be made small and the seal ring 22 is not detached therefrom.
