PURPOSE:To make a long, homogeneous oxide superconductive compact manufacturable by pressurizing and supplying oxide superconductive powder into a metal pipe being extruded via a hopper by dint of gas of more than 20% of oxygen and, after a compound wire is extruded, reducing a face area of the compound wire. CONSTITUTION:Oxide superconductive powder 1 is pressurized and supplied into a metal pipe 8 being extruded by an extruder via a hopper 2 by dint of gas of more than 20% of oxygen and, after a compound wire is extruded, a face area of this compound wire is reduced, forming it into the desired form, them sintering treatment is applied. A metal rod 7 of copper or a copper alloy or the like is fed to rotation of a rotary wheel 5 whereby it is formed into the metal pipe 8 by a mandrel die 4 and continuously extruded. At the time, gas containing more than 20% of oxygen is pressurized and supplied to the oxide powder 1 by a pipe line 9 leading to the hopper 2, and this powder is filled up in the metal pipe 8 being formed with pressure, forming the compound wire made up of the oxide powder inside and the metal pipe outside after being extruded in succession. With this constitution, the oxide powder is uniformly distributed so that such one as being homogeneous can be manufactured.
