PURPOSE:To prevent a revision of an important page from being deleted undesirably by designating an optional page revision so as to delete it. CONSTITUTION:When the revision deletion mode is set by a keyboard 13, the input of information relating to the revision to be deleted is commanded by a guidance. When the said information is subject to key entry, the information is displayed on a display device 26. The operator applieskey entry to a number of a document including the revision desired to be deleted. Then the page number and revision number desired to be deleted are recorded in a main memory 16. Then the registered data is read from the page list stored in the memory 16. In executing the delete mode, the registered data is compared with the data to be deleted. The revision to be deleted is found out.
