PURPOSE:To prevent galling by the inclination of a rotary plug during the ascension and descent thereof and a stationary plug by providing a device for preventing the inclination of the rotary plug having a pair of members which face each other on slopes and have a spacing between a bearing and the stationary plug. CONSTITUTION:The device 12 for preventing the inclination of the rotary plug is freely movably installed to the upper part of the stationary plug 3 by being connected to a hydraulic cylinder 11 for sliding and is constituted of a sliding plate 13 of which the front face is inclined (angle theta1 of inclination) toward the rotary plug 4 and a spacing adjusting plate 14 the rear face of which is inclined at the same angle theta1 of inclination as the angle of inclination of the front face of the plate 13. The gap delta between the plate 13 and the plate 14 is so set as to attain DXthetaMAX>=delta when the outside diameter of the bearing 9 is designated as D and the max. angle of inclination of the plug 4 is designated as thetaMAX. The plate 13 is inserted by a cylinder 11 by as much as the increased component of the gap delta between the plate 14 and the plate 13 in the case of lifting the rotary plug 4. The size of the gap delta at the time of lifting the rotary plug 4 is thereby maintained constant.
