PURPOSE:To provide the titled preparation containing a polyoxyethylene hardened castor oil derivative, an excipient and a polyhydric alcohol, having excellent stability, resolvability and appearance and useful as an additive for a high- calorific transfusion. CONSTITUTION:The titled preparation contains (A) 8-30% of a polyoxyethylene hardened castor oil derivative (e.g. HCO 10, 50, 60 or 100), (B) 20-70% of an excipient (e.g. mannitol, lactose, histidine or dextran) and (C) 5-15% of a polyhydric alcohol (e.g. glycerol). It can be prepared by (1) dissolving a water- soluble vitamin and the component B in distilled water for injection, (2) adjusting the pH of the solution to 4.5-6.5, (3) separately dissolving a fat-soluble vitamin in water added with the component A, (4) adding the component C to the product of the step 3 to obtain an aqueous solution of the fat-soluble vitamin, (5) uniformly mixing the products of the step 2 and the step 5, (6) dispensing the mixture into containers and (7) freeze-drying the product.
