PURPOSE:To improve the sound quality by adding an error detection flag to a location data before or after a 1st edit detection point at the decoding based on an output signal of a 1st edit detection circuit so as to apply error correction even for the edit period. CONSTITUTION:The 1st edit detection circuit 15 outputs a 1st edit detection signal based on the result of decoding by a C1 decoder 14 when a frame of each track is in error for a prescribed track or over at the same time. The output of the circuit 15 gives a switching signal of decoders 19, 21, a flag addition circuit 20 adds an error detection flag to a location data before and after the edit point and a 2nd edit detection circuit 22 outputs a 2nd edit detection signal when plural number of times of decoding disable states take place if the C2 decoder 21 applies decoding after the 1st edit detection signal is outputted. The 1st and 2nd edit detection signals are sent to the edit processing circuit 23, which applies edit processing so that the signals are consecutive smoothly when the 2nd edit detection signal is outputted just after the output of the 1st edit detection signal.
