Protein-polysaccharide for treating retroviral infections.

<p>A protein-polysaccharide, which has been produced by extracting with hot-water or an aqueous alkaline solution the mycelium or fruit body obtained from a culture of a basidiomycete belonging the the genus Coriolus, which contains from 18 to 38% by weight of protein and which has a molecular weight of not less than 5,000 (as measured by ultracentrifugal analysis), is useful for treating retroviral infections such as AIDS.</p>
