PURPOSE:To provide the subject method comprising the steps of : forming fine grooves on the surface of a sintered body wick, and applying lids of a porous material on the fine grooves thereby to form an artery easily and uniformly. CONSTITUTION:Lid wicks 6 of the same configuration are bonded and fixed to both surfaces of a plate felt wick 5 of a sintered metal. This bonded body is fixed and arranged to the peripheral groove wick 2 at its both ends by welding. Fine grooves 7 are formed by machining on the full length of each both surfaces of the sintered metal felt wick 5. After cutting the fine groove 7, it is capped, and bonding and fixing of the lid wick to the sintered metal felt wick 5 are carried out. Then, this bonded body is fitted in a heat pipe vessel 1. In this manner, since a separate wick is merely fixed to the wick to cover the same to form an artery, the operation becomes extremely easily. |
