PURPOSE:To surely remove impurities in a molten steel by providing a 1st filter which removes oxides, the 2nd filter which filters the oxides and carbides and the 3rd filter which removes the carbides into a trough for guiding the molten steel. CONSTITUTION:Three kinds of the filters by functions; the 1st filter 2, the 2nd filter 3 and the 3rd filter 4 are provided in the spout 1 for guiding the molten steel 5 to filter off impurities. The 1st filter 2 is preferably a porous filter essentially consisting of silicon carbide, the 2nd filter 3 a ceramics filter of which at least the surface layer consists of alumina, and the 3rd filter 4 a ceramics filter consisting of magnesia, alumina or silica. The impurities in the molten steel can be surely removed and the quality of a copper cast bar is improved even if the finely meshed filters having an easy tendency to clogging are not used. |
