PURPOSE:To raise a roll temp. and to roll a rolled stock at an optimal temp. by electrically isolating a roll housing and a roll driving system from rolling rolls and energizing to heat a couple of the rolling rolls by a prescribed electric source. CONSTITUTION:Roll chocks 4, 4' electrically isolating a roll housing 3 from rolling rolls are installed and couplings 6, 6' and 7, 7' electrically isolating roll driving systems 5, 5' from the rolling rolls are also installed. Members 2, 2' energizing a couple of the rolls 1, 1' are fixed on roll neck parts 1-1, 1'-1. when the couple of the rolls 1, 1' are connected to an electric source 10, the rolls 1, 1' are energized and heated by bringing a rolled stock 9 into contact with the rolls 1, 1' and a roll temp. is adjusted to be an optimal temp. by a variable resister 11. Thus, the stock 9 is rolled at the optimal temp. |
