PURPOSE:To shorten substantially operation time by constituting a XY table mounting a workpiece to be driven a predetermined distance and a pointer on a meter to indicate approximately the center of a scale when a probe is detected to contact the workpiece. CONSTITUTION:A contact detector section 14 detects the contact of a probe 6-1 of a meter 6 to inform that a pointer reaches a position in which it begins to swing if the relative position between a workpiece 7 and the meter 6 is shortened. Then, a NC device 12 moves a working bed 8 by a predetermined distance through a XY table drive section 11 to swing the pointer of meter 6 approximately to the center of scale. Thus, since workpiece position measuring control of a NC machine tool is not carried out manually but automatically, any skill is needed for control, and control time can be shortened. Thus, when surfaces to be measured prior to NC working is numerous, the operation time can be substantially shortened. |
