PURPOSE:To aim at enhancing the control ability of a ship during sailing by arranging cylinders which may be rotatably driven in the right and left draft sections of the bow of the ship. CONSTITUTION:Rotary cylinder support members 8 provided with rotary drive mechanisms are set on support plates 15 which are secured to forward projecting parts 14b of an upper deck 14 of a hull 1. Rotary cylinders 4 which may be submerged up to about the depth of the draft of the hull 1 are projected right below the rotary cylinder support members 8, through the intermediary of rotation transmitting shafts 12, being spaced from a bow valve. Normal and reverse rotation change-over mechanisms are provided in the rotary drive mechanisms in the rotary cylinder support members 8, and are coupled to a control system in the hull so that the rotational control is made inside of the hull. During advance of the hull, when the rotary cylinders are rotated, the control ability of the ship can be enhanced in navigation.
