PURPOSE:To enable rapid brake operation by providing an arrangement that a pressurizing instruction is turned on, immediately in association with rebrake operation when a lock detecting section detects the tendency of lock recovery after a predetermined time elapses from the time when pedal operation in a brake device provided with an anti-skid mechanism is changed from its turn-on condition into its turn-off condition. CONSTITUTION:A CPU computes a wheel speed, deceleration and the like in accordance with a wheel speed sensor S1, and a slip rate and the like so as to control solenoids in pressure control valves 21, 22 so that pressure is reduced, held or increased to perform anti-skid brake control With this arrangement, a detecting section SW detects pedal manipulation, and if a lock condition detecting means indicates a tendency of recovery of wheel rotational speed during a predetermined time elapses from the time when a turn-on signal from the section SW is changed into a turn-off signal, a rake pressurizing instruction is at once turned on so as to eliminate a delay in response during brake operation, and thereby it is possible to effectively prevent the so-called brake disc depressing phenomenon.
