PURPOSE:To carry out grinding properly and rapidly by obtaining the deflecting quantity of a wheel spindle from the machining position of a workpiece and the cutting position of the wheel spindle, comparing it with a previously set ideal deflecting quantity to obtain the deviation of the deflecting quantity, and controlling the feeding speed of the wheel spindle. CONSTITUTION:A detecting means 3 detects the machining position of a workpiece W in accordance with the output signal of an inner gauge 2 for detecting the hole diameter of the workpiece W, and a detecting means 8 detects the operation of a cutting mechanism 7 to detect the cutting position of the wheel spindle 4. At the time of grinding the workpiece W, since the deflection of the wheel spindle 4 in the cutting position is restored by the time it arrives at the cutting end position, the deflecting quantity at a grinding point can be calculated by an operating means 9. Then, by comparing the deflecting quantity of the wheel spindle 4 with an ideal deflecting quantity corresponding to the grinding position which is read out by a deflecting quantity memory means 10 by a comparing means 11, a control signal corresponding to the deviation is outputted to a cutting speed control means 12 to control the cutting mechanism 7.
