PURPOSE:To easily perform accurate measurement without limiting a region to be measured, by arranging a photodetector movable in a direction vertical to the surface of the skin to the center of the sensor part brought into contact with the skin and operating a pressure device in conjunction with said photodetector and measuring a pulse wave while continuously increasing the pressure applied to the region to be measured. CONSTITUTION:When the front surface of the optical filter 3 of a photoreceptor applies almost no pressure to a region to be measured at first when the outer surface of a housing 1 is present on the same surface and the amplitude of the pulse wave signal obtained through a photoelectric element is also extremely small.
