PURPOSE:To maintain a long-term draining effect by a method in which a braided base tape containing a soil agglomerator is laid in the middle portion of an underdrainage. CONSTITUTION:A base tape consisting of a paper or nonwoven cloths with a soil agglomerator, having small-width slits, is braided into a rough straw mat form by a braider to form a base material for accelerating culvert draining. The base material is laid in the middle portion of an underdrainage, where the soil agglomerator is dissolved by water coming from the upper part to form water-resistant films on the surface of the lower soil limps. The soil lumps play a role of a hydrophobic agent and a draining effect can be kept for long periods.
