PURPOSE:To remove burrs surely and efficiently by polishing the cut faces of a floppy disk in at least 3 directions or more, with respect to the disk faces, that is, the directions at right angles and 45 deg. to the upper and lower faces, while turning the disk. CONSTITUTION:A polishing tape roll 5 is arranged under a disk 1 while being opposed to the outer circumferential cut end face of the disk 1 supported by drive shafts 2, 3, the rolls 6, 7 are opposed to the outer circumferential ridge of the disk 1 and arranged to the upper and lower side of the disk 1 at an interval. That is, the rolls 6, 7 of the polishment tape roll polished at an angle of nearly 45 deg. are installed closely and suppress the upper/lower face of the disk from a direction of nearly 45 deg.. Then burr of the magnetic recording layer of the disk 1 caused in forming the punch or the original material is polished by a polishment tape provided from three directions (outer end face and both edges) individually. Thus, the burr is removed quickly and surely and a magnetic recording disk with excellent quality is finished.
