PURPOSE:To execute various kinds of operations such as a recording operation, etc., on a condition desired by an operator even if the kind of devices are different by converting function information stored in a storing medium into the function information suitable for the respective devices and executing the operation such as recording, etc. CONSTITUTION:The recording device provides a reading means 11 for executing the reading of the function information for controlling the various kinds of functions of the device from a set storing medium such as an IC card, etc., a function information conversion means 12 for converting the function information into the function information which can be executed in its own device and a recording means 13 for executing the recording of the picture information with the function information converted by the function information conversion means 12. The function information for setting the recording device is written in the storing medium and the function information is converted into the function information which can be executed in the device on a device side where the storing medium is set. Thus, the recording device can be set in the nearest state that a user desires by setting the storing medium even if the contents of the operation of the device is not known. |
