PURPOSE:To sufficiently fix various kinds of transfer materials with a simple operation without superposing the respective transfer materials on a carrier device by controlling the paper feed timing of the transfer materials and the feed speed of the transfer materials of a fixing device according to the quality of paper, especially, the thickness of paper. CONSTITUTION:The titled device installs the carrier device 30 for carrying the transfer material P from the transfer position of image forming media 1a-1a to the position of the fixing device 40, detection means 22 and 24 for discriminating the kind of the transfer material P and a means for delaying the paper feed timing for the transfer material P as compared with the paper feed timing for common paper and controls the carrying speed of the transfer material of the fixing device 40 at low speed in case of discriminating in the detection means 22 and 24 that the transfer material P is thick paper. Thus, the image, which is excellent in fixing, can be formed on various kinds of transfer materials P with a simple operation without superposing the transfer materials on the carrier device 30. |
