PURPOSE:To contrive the improvement of the error correction capability by recording an error correction code by 1-several frames every time a prescribed frame of digital signals is recorded at the recording. CONSTITUTION:A rotary head 11 is provided and two slanted tracks are formed by one revolution of the rotary head 11, and a device DAT 1 is provided, where the two slanted tracks are used as one frame and the digital signal is coded and recorded/reproduced so that the digital signal is finished in one frame. An error correction code by 1-several frames is generated by the circuit 25 with respect to the prescribed frame of the digital signal at recording and a microcomputer 22 records the frame of the error correction code to the boundary part of the recording at every prescribed frame. Thus, the error correction capability is improved and the re-recording of the required data is smoothed without destroying it by recording the data up to the frame of the error correction code at re-recording.
