PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity, fog and developing speed of a silver halide photographic emulsion by forming a deep indent or a space on each central part of primary surface of flat plate particles. CONSTITUTION:The title silver halide photographic emulsion consists of a dispersant and silver halide particles, wherein at least 50% of the whole projected area of the silver halide particles is occupied by flat plate particles having >=2:1 mean aspect ratio and comprises parallel principal surface (111) where said flat plate particles are faced oppositely to each other. Further, at least 30% of the flat plate particles has an indent or space at the center of the surface. By this constitution, a silver halide photographic emulsion consisting of flat plate silver halide particles is provided. The emulsion has high sensitivity, improved graininess, sharpness, and covering power, fast developing speed, and superior preservability. |
