COLLATING TEST DEVICE FOR NON-VOLATILE MEMORY CONTENT OF PRINTER

PURPOSE:To execute the collating test of the content of a non-volatile RAM without removing the non-volatile RAM from a printing device by comparing and collating the output of a switching means with the content of a non-volatile memory when the output of the switching means is data for the comparing and collating test of the non-volatile memory content. CONSTITUTION:In a collating mode, data A from a host device is outputted as collating data C for executing the comparing and collating test of the non- volatile RAM content through the switching means 2. Comparing and collating data C for executing the comparing and collating test of the non-volatile RAM content is added to a comparison means 5. The comparison means 5 executes the comparing and collating test between input data and the content of the tested non-volatile RAM6, and generates data showing the result of the test. Output data of the comparison means 5 is added to a display means 7, which displays the result of the test in the display panel of a console panel in accordance with the output of the comparison means 5. Thus, manhour necessary for the collating test of the content of the non-volatile RAM can considerably be reduced.
