Title compds. (I)[R=H, C1-4 lower alkyl; Alk=C2-4 alkylene; m=0,1; n=4,5 were prepd.. Thus, 5g 6-chloro-7,8,9,10-tetrahydro1,2,4- triazolo [3,4-a phthalazine in 25ml 1-(2-aminoethyl)-4methyl piperidine was refluxed for 15hr and chilled to give grey crystals. This material was recrystallized by toluene to give 6-[2-(4-methyl-1- piperidinyl)ethylamino -7,8,9,10-tetrahydro-1,2,4triazolo [3,4-a phthalazine, which was dissolved in methylene chloride and treated with ether.HCl to give 6-[2-(4-methyl-1piperidinyl)-ethylamino - 7,8,9,10-tetrahydro-1,2,4-triazolo-[3,4-a phthalazine.HCl.hemihydrate.
