PURPOSE:To improve contact between positive and negative electrodes and to stabilize internal resistance by arranging a positive ring which supports the circumference of the positive electrode to retard the lateral bulging of a positive mix to bulge longitudinally, or toward the negative electrode the positive mix during discharge. CONSTITUTION:A positive mix 3 comprising manganese dioxide serving as active material, conductor, and binder is put in a case 2, and a negative electrode 5 is arranged thereon through a separator 4. The whole circumference of the corner, facing the separator 4, of the positive mix 3 is covered with a positive ring 8 made of stainless steel coated with insulating polypropylene resin. By arranging the positive ring, the lateral bulging of the positive mix 3 during discharge is retarded to bulge it longitudinally. The contact between positive and negative electrodes is improved and internal resistance is stabilized while a battery is discharged to increase discharge performance. |
