PURPOSE:To prevent nitration of a cathode component, by constituting a gas diffused layer, which is provided on the surface of the cathode with MgO or a material whose main component is MgO. CONSTITUTION:An anode 2 whose main component is Pt is provided on one surface of an oxygen-ion conductive solid-state electrolyte plate 1. A cathode 3, which comprises a perovskite type composite oxide (a) expressed by a formula Ln1-xAxCo1-yMeyO3-delta and an oxygen-ion conductive solid-state electrolyte, is provided on the other surface. A gas diffused layer 6 comprising MgO or a material whose main component is MgO is provided on the cathode. In the formula: Ln is La, Ce and the like; A is Sr, Ca and the like; Me is Ni, Fe and the like, 0<=x<=1; 0<=y<=1; and delta represents the amount of oxygen deficiency. The MgO in the layer 6 acts as the point of a base. nitration of the constituent elements of the oxide (a) is prevented. Therefore, the function of the electrode can be stably maintained without the decrease in catalyst ability. |
