PURPOSE:To surely form a layer plated with noble metal which is excellent in adhesive properties and has pretty luster by treating a titanium-base stock with treatment liquid contg. fluoride, and thereafter performing ruthenium strike plating and noble metal plating successively. CONSTITUTION:After a titanium-base stock is degreased with alkali or the like and washed, it is immersed into treatment liquid contg. about 0.1-20wt.% fluoride such as silicofluoric acid and having about <=0.6pH, and treated at about 1-60 deg.C for about 10-300sec. Then a plated layer having about 0.1-1mu thickness is formed by treating this titanium-base stock with ruthenium strike plating liquid under the conditions of about 20-80 deg.C temp., about 0.1-5A/dm<2> current density and about 10-300sec. Furthermore the layer plated with noble metal having about 0.2-5mu thickness is formed by performing noble metal plating thereon under the conditions of about 40-60 deg.C temp., about 0.2-1.0A/dm<2> current density and about 1-10min. Thereby the layer plated with noble metal which is excellent in adhesive properties and corrosion resistance is formed on the titanium-base stock at low cost.
